Easter Saturday was a good day for the annual Dubliner Mountain Thunder motorcycle street race. It has been the Methven Lions' major annual fundraising event for several years. It is a huge logistical exercise. Months of planning are needed, then on the day setting up the 1km circuit in the middle of downtown happens in the early hours of the morning. From 9 am to 4 pm it's all action, then another massive clean up job happens; by 6 pm there is no evidence of the race apart from a higher than usual number of bikes and their riders in town.
I spend the day recording the event as my small contribution to the day. Most of the event photos are now up on the Methven Lions website, with a few more on their Facebook page and also the Mountain Thunder website. I've also picked out a few I especially liked to post below.
